Plume of Gas and Ash Rises From Volcano as La Palma Eruption Continues

A plume of gas and ash was seen rising in a timelapse posted to Twitter on September 27 as the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano on the Spanish island of La Palma continued.

Spain’s National Geographic Institute reported a new eruption on September 27, eight days after the first eruption began.
