Playful Seal Gets Acquainted With Diver Off Coast of Northumberland

A deep-sea diver from Northumberland, England, made a new underwater pal on October 1 off the coast of the Farne Islands, an archipelago in the North Sea.

Ben Burville, a scuba diver who works as a doctor in the coastal town of Amble, Northumberland, by day, has built up a rapport with seals in the area after nearly 20 years diving among them.

Burville captured footage which shows a grey seal playfully wrap its flippers around the diver’s hand and swim around him. Credit: Ben Burville via Storyful
