A group of kayakers were treated to an unexpected surprise in San Diego Bay on April 30 after they got to paddle up close to a sea lion playing in bioluminescent water.
Six friends took a night-time excursion to experience the glowing phenomenon though they didn’t expect to encounter a sea lion on their trip.
“It was really magic,” explained Ruslan Plenis, who owns EcoBoat Rentals.
He added, “Our company is hosting eco-friendly water activities and experiences on Shelter island, San Diego. We are temporary closed during COVID-19 but we used kayaks for personal use with our friends — we followed social distancing rules.” Credit: Ruslan Plenis via Storyful
