While speaking to Variety’s Marc Malkin on the “Just for Variety” podcast, Wolff said that Cage became one of his “best friends” and “one of the most loyal people in my life” after working on “Pig” together.

“We talk almost every few days,” he said. “We text all day and he FaceTimed me like two days ago, and we really support each other and help each other with things. We started making the movie when we were both going through very similar personal things in our life and we bonded over it immediately and connected and were very emotionally open with each other. We just became best friends.”

The film also stars Adam Arkin, Nina Belforte, Dalene Young, Gretchen Corbett, Julia Bray, Darius Pierce and Elijah Ungvary. “Pig” is directed by Michael Sarnoski, who previously worked on various TV series such as “Olympia” and “Fight Night Legacy.” Vanessa Block co-wrote the film with Sarnoski. Robert Bartner, Marisa Clifford, Danny Cohen, Michael Diamond, Bobby Hoppey, Tim O’Shea and Yara Shoemaker served as executive producers. Principal photography for the film began back in September 2019 in Oregon.

“Pig” will be released in theaters on July 16. Watch the trailer below.
