Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan has once again ruffled the feathers of some viewers, this time sparking a number of official complaints to broadcasting watchdog Ofcom over his suggestive comments to Carol Vorderman.

The ever-controversial presenter spoke to the former Countdown star last week, when Carol announced that she would be setting up a "live-streaming maths school for grown-ups" amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Rather than ask Carol about her plans to educate and occupy the nation, Piers replied: "Are you going to wear a nice mathematical uniform for this? One of the ones adults might enjoy, you know Carol."

Lorraine Kelly quickly interjected, telling Piers to "behave", but it was Carol who eventually got the last word. "I'll tell you what I am not going to do, Piers, which is probably what you would like me to do," she later added.

"It's teach you how to write 'boobs' on a calculator."

According to The Sun, Ofcom has since received two complaints about Piers' comments, as well as another 42 separate complaints from last week's shows regarding his "argumentative" interviewing technique and his behaviour towards his co-presenter.

A spokesperson for the regulatory body said no investigation had yet been launched. "We are assessing the complaints against our broadcasting rules, but are yet to decide whether or not to investigate," they said in a statement.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
