Piers Morgan is leading the praise for Her Majesty The Queen's coronavirus speech, hailing it as her "finest moment as our monarch".

Following the Queen's unprecedented address to the nation, in which she thanked NHS workers for their heroic efforts and praised the country's sense of spirit, Piers soon took to Twitter.

"A magnificent speech from a magnificent lady. Thank you, Your Majesty - this was your finest moment as our Monarch," wrote the Good Morning Britain presenter.

He added: "The Queen displayed the extraordinary power tonight of one word: EXPERIENCE. No world leader on earth, of any kind, has more than she does. That's why she always knows exactly what to say. It's a remarkable gift."

I'm a Celebrity and Doctor Who star John Barrowman was also amongst those to praise the Queen's speech.

"Watching the Her Majesty The Queen giving her speech to the UK. But I think it’s a speech for everyone, everywhere," he tweeted while watching from California.

Comedian Jason Manford, meanwhile, was particularly pleased by the Queens' message, writing: "Even the Queen calls for ‘good humoured resolve’. So stop being so f***ing oversensitive when people do jokes eh?"

And The Grand Tour presenter Jeremy Clarkson simply tweeted: "God I love Mrs Queen."
