At first sight any visitor to the Goodwood Revival would have thought they had travelled back in time as cars took to the race track at the vintage event.
However, some of the drivers dazzling the crowds were very much ones for the future as they put the cars through their paces.
Spectators in vintage costumes watched the action in soggy conditions.

Lee Carsley’s decision to include Declan Rice as the sole holding midfielder spectacularly backfired with the plethora of attacking talent unable to ignite
Erling Haaland has insisted he has no regrets over his actions in Manchester City’s powder-keg clash with Arsenal when he threw a ball at Gabriel Magalhaes’s head.
Before we get into this impossible debate, I am setting up some parameters. We are not debating off-court achievements, nor crowd favouritism, nor how gracefully our players, who are only drawn from the Open era, might have conducted themselves.
Few individuals have brought me greater misery than Rafael Nadal. Nadal may only have been five years Federer's junior, but he was a product of an entirely new generation. From 2004 to 2014, Nadal racked up a 23-10 head-to-head lead over Federer, dominating even during the Swiss' peak, when he was losing to virtually no one else.
The Premier League’s civil war will enter a new phase over the next month when Manchester City are expected to receive legal notices from rival clubs that reserve their rights to seek damages.
Rafael Nadal’s tennis career will be remembered because of the numbers, yes — the 14 French Open trophies, the 22 Grand Slam titles overall, the nearly two decades in the top 10, and so on — and, without a doubt, because of his riveting rivalries with Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. Also, indelibly, because of the all-out effort and energy Nadal brought to the court every time. This doesn't mean a return of the Toyota works team which raced in F1 for eight seasons until 2009, however.
France eased past Israel 4-1 in the Nations League on Thursday despite missing Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann's recent retirement. Eduardo Camavinga and Christopher Nkunku scored in the first half in Budapest, where Israel is hosting games due to the security situation in the Middle East. It is the first time since 2016 that neither Mbappe nor Griezmann featured in Didier Deschamps' France squad. France shrugged off Kylian Mbappe's absence and Antoine Griezmann's retirement to comfortably o

An 89th-minute goal by substitute Luiz Henrique gave Brazil a 2-1 away win over Chile on Thursday in a 2026 World Cup qualifying match. The win meant under-pressure Brazil coach Dorival Júnior's team will finish the ninth round of the round-robin competition in fourth place in South American qualifying. Earlier, Lionel Messi's Argentina drew Venezuela 1-1 in a match that was delayed for 30 minutes due to a wet pitch at Monumental Stadium in the Venezuelan city of Maturin.
Sei Young Kim, looking for her first victory this season, opened with a 10-under 62 on Thursday to lead the first round of the Buick LPGA Shanghai tournament. The South Korean shot a 28 on her first nine holes at the Qizhong Garden Golf Club, which included an eagle on the 17th, and then came home with a 34 on her second nine holes. It was her low round of the year and comes after she finished third in September in the last LPGA event — the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship.
