NAME: YUANFAN YANG, PIANIST

''I thought it might be a bit challenging at first, but once I started playing, I just forgot about everything. It was just literally just me and the music, which was great, and the cameras weren't inteferring with me at all.''

There are 60 competitors in the first round

They come from 17 different countries

Each will send a video to the jury

NAME: ADAM GATEHOUSE, THE LEEDS ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

"Clearly, we were not going to be able to travel a jury from London to Berlin to where ever all around the world. So we will watch the videos at home online and watch and judge them in that way."

The next round is in Leeds in September

It's hoped contestants will perform to a live audience

The winner will receive a record deal
