SANDAKAN, Nov 23 (Bernama) -- The 20th Battalion of the Beluran General Operation Force (PGA) has detained two men for having 60.16 grammes of syabu worth RM4,000 and a homemade firearm, bakakuk in an Operasi Khazanah Khas here early this morning.
Its commanding officer, ACP Mohd Nasaruddin M. Nasir said the two men, namely, a local in his 30s, and an illegal, believed to be a Filipino, in his 20s, were detained in a mangrove swamp village in Kampung Melayu Bakau here at about 1.30 am today.
‘’The drugs were found in 85 small plastic packets packed in aluminium foil.
‘’Also seized were a digital scale, four aluminium foils, a parang and cash, namely, 290,000 rupiah, five yuan, 100 pesos, five New Zealand dollars, 20 Hong Kong dollars and RM2 and a motorcycle, allegedly belonging to another man, a drug addict, who was believed to have escaped during the raid,’’ he said in a statement here today.
Mohd Nasaruddin said the men and seized items were taken to the Sandakan district police headquarters for investigation under Section 8 of the Firearms Act 1960, Section 6(1)(c)of the Immigrations Act 1959/63 and Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
