Petrol, diesel excise duty cut by Rs 5, Rs 10 per litre on Diwali eve by Central Government

This year's Diwali has brought an early relief for drivers in India as retail prices for petrol and diesel were slashed by between Rs 5-10 per litre on Thursday morning. The price drop was in line with the government's announcement to cut duty on fuel to contain surging rates. Since, January 1, 2021, fuel prices have risen by more than Rs 26 a litre before Thursday's cut. The footage was shot on Thursday (November 4) and shows riders filling up their scooters at an Indian Oil petrol station.
