Peter Ho to star in "Xifei's Royal Love in the Palace"?

15 Jan – Rumour has it that actor Peter Ho will be playing the role of Yongzheng Emperor in the upcoming Chinese period drama, "Xifei's Royal Love in the Palace".

As reported on ET Today, sources are claiming that the Taiwanese actor will be replacing Wallace Chung, who was originally cast to play the role in the upcoming series.

If so, this would be Peter's first Chinese costume drama since starring in the 2017 series, "Nothing Gold Can Stay".

On the other hand, actress He Hongshan, who previously played Concubine Mei in "Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace", reportedly has been cast to play the titular character in the upcoming series.

"Xifei's Royal Love in the Palace" is the second instalment of the Palace series, and will chronicle the life of Consort Xi.

It is noted that the story of Xifei has previously been adapted into the 2011 hit TV series, "The Legend of Zhen Huan", starring Sun Li.
