KUALA KANGSAR, March 13 (Bernama) -- The new Perak state executive council (exco) line-up will be announced at the latest by next week, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
The Chenderiang assemblyman gave the assurance that all candidates would be screened by agencies such as the police and the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission before submitting the list to the Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah for his consent.
"I will take the appointment of the Cabinet members by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as an example (in selecting the candidates).
"The candidates will not include those who are problematic or could tarnish the image of the state government," he told a press conference after he was sworn-in as the 13th Perak Mentri Besar here today.
Ahmad Faizal who made history after being sworn in as Perak Menteri Besar for the second time in 22 months said the appointment of the state exco members must be expedited as the exco meeting had not been held for five weeks following the recent political turmoil.

The Menteri Besar said he would also be meeting with state UMNO Liaison chairman Datuk Saarani Mohamad and state PAS commissioner Razman Zakaria to discuss on the list of candidates.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Faizal also thanked Sultan Nazrin for giving his consent on his appointment as the 13th Perak Menteri Besar and promised that he would always prioritise the interests of the people.
