IPOH, Nov 21 — Newly elected Ipoh Timur lawmaker Howard Lee has arrived at Istana Kinta amid reports of a Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) unity government in Perak.

Howard, who is also Perak DAP treasurer, was seen arriving in a black Toyota Vellfire at 12:15pm today.

Meanwhile, Perak Amanah chairman Asmuni Awi announced that PH will form an alliance with BN to form the next state government.

“PH and BN will form the state government and inshaAllah will be forming a stable government as the majority of the people aspire to have a government that can administer for the sake of harmony and well-being of the state,” he said.

PH managed to garner 24 seats, while BN managed to get nine seats. Perikatan Nasional (PN) only managed to get 26 out of 59 available. Thirty seats are needed from a political coalition to form a simple majority.

Earlier today, it was reported that PH and BN MPs had a meeting at Umno headquarters purportedly to discuss a possible unity government at Federal level.

Previously, PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin claimed that he has enough support to form the next federal government.

Earlier today, Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabi Yaakob said that the coalition is seeking an extension to the 2pm deadline issued by Istana Negara.
