Pep Guardiola says Erling Haaland is the “perfect person” after the Man City striker won the Player of the Month award in the Premier League.

The Norway international has scored 13 goals in nine matches in all competitions since joining the Citizens from Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window.

He was awarded the Player of the Month award in the Premier League today after bagging ten league goals in just six appearances this term.

Five Prem summer signings made for combined £66m that currently look a bit pointless

And Guardiola has praised the Man City striker for being a “nice guy” off the pitch too, the Spaniard told a pre-match press conference: “At the age that he has, his ambition, he wants to better. A perfect person, a nice guy. He already had the quality.”

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly suggested earlier this week that the Premier League should have a north vs south All-Star game to help fund the rest of English football’s league pyramid.

Asked what he thought, Guardiola added: “I don’t have opinion. No, no. I don’t have opinion. I agree with Jurgen [Klopp]. If they give me the dates when this should be played it would be nice…”

It was mainly good news on the injury front ahead of their match against Wolves tomorrow lunchtime, the Man City boss continued: “Aymeric (Laporte) is back in training but is not ready. Kyle (Walker) is getting better but I am not sure if tomorrow he will be ready.

“We will see in training this afternoon this afternoon. (On Kalvin Phillips) [He is] a little better.”

On what to expect from Wolves, Guardiola said: “Completely different team to different seasons. They used to play 5 at the back now with Coady now with four. I’m really impressed with how they play, unpredictable.

“They have a lot, a lot of really good things. Centre-backs, attack out-side, inside, a lot of talent with Neves, Guedes, Moutinho, all of them. They are competitors. One of the toughest opponents we have faced in last season and tomorrow will be no exception. We have to be prepared. We have to mentally prepare.”

Man City played on Wednesday evening in a 2-1 victory over Dortmund in the Champions League and now they will play Wolves with only two days in between the two matches.

On the quick turnaround, Guardiola added: “It is what it is, we have to adapt. All teams play at 12:30 sometimes we are no exception. They have a lot of quality, I respect Wolves for what they’ve done in the past, make us suffer.”
