On TikTok, just like in grocery store aisles, the year has already fast-forwarded to the holiday season. You can find so many Christmas recipes on the app right now, but one of the latest viral videos is about cocoa bombs that melt into warm milk to release hot cocoa mix, marshmallows, and other flavors. You can DIY them at home, but Costco is also selling a 16-count box of them that you can buy.
Think of these as edible bath bombs — cocoa bombs are round chocolate sweets that contain goodies on the inside that are only released when warm milk is poured over them. The videos on TikTok of them have gone insanely viral, with the hashtag #hotcocoabomb being used across the app to share mesmerizing videos. Watching the steaming milk melt the outer layer of a cocoa bomb to reveal what else is inside is just as satisfying as a cheese pull ... but with some extra holiday cheer.
☕️ Hot Chocolate Bombs are at Costco!!! Have you seen these? You pour warm milk over them and they burst open with hot cocoa mix and marshmallows 🥰 So fun and tasty too!!! . . . . . #costco #costcohotfinds #costcofinds #costcodeals #costcohaul #costcolife #hotchocolate #hotchocolatebombs

At Costco, a box of hot cocoa bombs with festive red, green, gold, and silver foil packaging is being sold for about $19. The box includes 16 cocoa bombs total with flavors like milk chocolate, salted caramel, strawberry, and s'mores all included in the variety.
Some TikTok users are sharing how to make the viral sensations at home (it's relatively easy to do), but buying them already made and in an assortment of flavors from Costco is so much easier, or it's at least a good way to see if you like using cocoa bombs before you put in all that extra work. I'm calling it now, these are going to be the next big food trend of the year. Mark my words.
