The Chatham-Kent Police Service says it's currently investigating a collision that sent a pedestrian to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Emergency crews responded to a scene on Grand Avenue West near Woods Street in Chatham just before 8 p.m. on Thursday, police said in a news release.

The pedestrian, a 47-year-old Chatham-Kent man, was taken to hospital in an ambulance, where his injuries were determined to be life-threatening, police said.

He was then air-lifted by Ornge Air Ambulance to a Windsor hospital for further medical treatment.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Unit is asking anyone with information about the incident to get in touch.
