Peckham shooting: Man, 20, fights for life after being shot 'number of times' in broad daylight

A man is in critical condition after being shot in Peckham in broad daylight.

Police were called to reports of an injured man on East Surrey Grove just before 5pm on Wednesday.

A man, 20, was found at the scene with injuries after being shot multiple times.

He was taken to hospital where his condition is critical.

His family has been notified, the Met Police said.

Detectives have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or has footage to come forward.

No arrests have been made and a crime scene remains in place.

Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are in the early stages of our investigation and are piecing together a timeline of events leading up to, and following the shots being fired.

“If you saw anything suspicious, or perhaps witnessed the shooting or have footage, please do get in touch and share it with us.

“In the coming days local residents will notice additional police patrols in the area to provide reassurance. Please do approach officers and speak to them if you need to.”
