In December last year Rundle revealed she had suffered a “nice juicy bout" of COVID-19 and had to go to hospital.

A sixth and final season of Peaky Blinders is currently in production. Ada Shelby is set to return, recently telling Digital Spy that the show will go out on a high: "I think that [creator] Steve [Knight] has said that this is going to be the last, so you can imagine – it's going to be all guns blazing. It's always, you know, really rock and roll.

"But it's the last series, [so] everyone's going to be really going for it. It feels exciting and sad. We're all really pleased that we're getting to make it and tell more of the story. But yeah, Ada's just as badass as ever. She always is."

The series' creator Steven Knight said the show would also return as a movie in the future.

Knight told Deadline: “COVID changed our plans. But I can say that my plan from the beginning was to end Peaky with a movie.

“That is what is going to happen.”
