SIBU, April 30 — The Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) supreme council has accepted the resignation of Bobby William as president, secretary-general Kipli Ayom said today.

He said the council registered the party’s appreciation to Bobby for his past service and leadership since taking over the top post from the late Cobbold John Lusoi.

“At the same meeting, the supreme council endorsed the position of the elected deputy president Moses Ripai to take over the leadership as acting president, as provided by PBDS constitution,” Kipli said in a statement.

Bobby resigned as the party president on April 20, saying he wished to make way for a new leader to take over and wanted to concentrate on his business.

At today’s supreme council meeting, Moses named Julius Enchana Jasper Ancho and Dr Bego Sepop as deputy presidents.

He also appointed Asvester Ujan Daya, Michael Samuel, Abraham Buja Andrew Bugie, Alpha Dragam, and Robert Siting as appointed vice presidents of the party.

Kipli Ayom was retained as secretary-general, Andrew Bugie Ipang as information chief and Baba Emperan as the treasurer-general

Moses also named seven other party leaders as appointed supreme council members.

Kipli said with the appointment of the new supreme council members, the acting president placed his hope that PBDS will move forward and be ready to face the next Sarawak state election.

“The party is now in a better position to grow by recruiting new members, forming branches and carrying out its planned activities,” he said.

He added the leadership would like to assure its members and supporters that the party is in good stable hands and looking forward to contributing to the progress of the people of Sarawak.
