  • Patrick Mahomes, who just won his third Super Bowl, signed the biggest deal in NFL history in 2020.

  • As one of the brightest stars in the league, Mahomes makes tons of money both on and off the field.

  • Mahomes has since invested in several sports teams, innovative sports technology, and restaurants.

Patrick Mahomes is arguably the best player in the NFL.

The superstar Kansas City Chiefs quarterback has won three Super Bowls and three Super Bowl MVPs in his career — all before turning 30.

He's making a not-so-small fortune as a result. Mahomes signed the biggest deal in NFL history in 2020, and he's since restructured the deal to earn even more money over a shorter span, as reported by NFL.com.

Mahomes and his family — wife Brittany, daughter Sterling Skye, and son Patrick "Bronze" Lavon III — live a life of luxury thanks to the quarterback's generational talents.

Here's how he makes and spends his millions.

After spending his rookie year backing up veteran Alex Smith, Mahomes took over the starting job in Kansas City in his second season — and was an immediate sensation.

He was named MVP of the 2018 season before leading his team to a Super Bowl victory the very next year.

A 10-year, $450 million extension ensured that Mahomes would stay in Kansas City for some time.

He got to work right away, winning another Super Bowl — and Super Bowl MVP — at the end of the 2022 season.

A few months after winning his second Super Bowl, he renegotiated the deal to get even more money in a shorter span — $210.6 million between 2023 and 2026, NFL.com reported.

In addition to the money he makes on the field, Mahomes also has several impressive endorsement deals with high-profile brands.

Forbes also placed him at No. 23 on its 2023 list of the world's highest-paid athletes.

Mahomes has partnerships with companies such as Adidas, State Farm, Head and Shoulders, Bose, and Essentia.

Mahomes bought a slice of MLB's Kansas City Royals, furthering his commitment to his adopted city as the youngest owner in MLB history.

His wife, Brittany Matthews, also bought a share of the city's National Women's Soccer League team, the Kansas City Current. In January 2023, Mahomes joined his wife as a part-owner of the Kansas City Current.

Mahomes also has a stake in Kansas City's MLS team, Sporting KC.

Outside of sports, Mahomes has also invested in the restaurant industry.

A native Texan, Mahomes worked with a franchise group to help bring Whataburger to the greater Kansas City area.

Mahomes' preferred meal is "the #1 with cheese, ketchup, and pickles only with a large fry and a large Coke," though he mixes his order up, he told Sports Radio 610 AM KCSP in 2021, The Kansas City Star reported.

He also invested in Whoop, a wearable tech company that includes Kevin Durant, Rory McIlroy, and Justin Thomas as fellow investors.

When Mahomes isn't working, he's an avid golfer.

Mahomes purchased an 8-acre plot of land in Belton, Missouri, in 2020 that was listed for $400,000, Architectural Digest reported. He built a mansion on the property, as well as a pool, football field, and golf course.

While waiting for construction to be completed, he lived in a 4,300-square-foot home with three bedrooms and four bathrooms in Kansas City. He later listed the property for $2.9 million, Realtor.com reported.

Mahomes also owns a four-bedroom, seven-bathroom home in Texas that he purchased for $3.37 million in 2020, where he and his family live during the off-season.

Patrick and Brittany tied the knot in March 2022 in a lavish wedding in Maui.

In a 2022 Instagram Q&A, Matthews said that they chose to get married in Hawaii because it was the first place they vacationed together, People magazine reported.

"The weather and views are just perfection there!" she wrote. "I wanted somewhere where people couldn't just pull up to lol."

Matthews wore a custom Versace wedding dress with cutouts in the corset bodice, according to an Instagram post from her stylist, Mimi Cuttrell. Their wedding was held at Olowalu Plantation House, an oceanfront venue where prices start at $12,598 for 50 guests, according to Wedding Spot.

They share two children, Sterling Skye and Patrick "Bronze" Lavon III.

Patrick Bronze was born in November 2022. The Mahomes family marked his first birthday with a football-themed party celebrating his "first down," according to People magazine.

With plenty of time — and money — left on his deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, life for Patrick Mahomes is pretty good.

Mahomes was named Super Bowl MVP for a third time in 2024 after defeating the San Francisco 49ers.

Mahomes is now in the same league as NFL legends Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw, and Troy Aikman — the only starting quarterbacks who have been named Super Bowl MVP at least three times.

Winning the Super Bowl also came with an additional $1.25 million bonus on top of his annual salary of $53 million.
