Although most of the population probably feels it's about damn time that McDreamy got his dues, Patrick Dempsey's wife, Jillian, had the funniest reaction to her husband's new Sexiest Man Alive title.

After he announced the news on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday night, Jillian celebrated her husband's newfound status with an Instagram post containing a clip from the show. "Well, the cat’s out of the bag for 2023 @people’s #SexiestManAlive and my hubz is on the cover!" the makeup artist captioned the post. "Loved being a part of this insanely fun ride with you @patrickdempsey. What a title! You truly are my sexiest man alive - 🫶."

In a separate post, Jillian shared the two People covers, as well as some behind-the-scenes footage of the Grey's Anatomy alumnus getting ready for the photo shoot with the help of his wife, who happens to be a celebrity makeup artist already.

"What a title! Very cool @patrickdempsey & well deserved, sexy!" she captioned this second post. In the one video, Jillian blow dried her husband's hair while he sat in a chair and looked at his reflection in the mirror. In the last slide, Jillian used a makeup brush to touch up his complexion while Patrick giggled. She concluded the caption by teasing him about this extremely high honor. "We may torture you a bit around the house about this one 😁 - already making t-shirts. Congrats! 🙌

During his interview with People, Patrick admitted that he knew the jokes from his family would come. “They’re just going to make fun of me and pick on me and figure out every reason why I shouldn’t be,” he said, referring to his family, wife Jillian, daughter Talula, and twin sons Darby and Sullivan. “Which is good," he added. "They keep me young.”

He didn't think the publication was serious at first. saying, “I was completely shocked, and then I started laughing, like, this is a joke, right? I’ve always been the bridesmaid!”

While Grey's fans have been waiting for this recognition for years, Patrick, for one, is happy that it came when it did. “I’m glad it’s happening at this point in my life,” he said. “It’s nice to have the recognition, and certainly my ego takes a little bump, but it gives me the platform to use it for something positive.”
