Passengers Left in the Dark as Power Outage Halts Flights at Austin Airport

Passengers waited in a darkened terminal at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in the early hours of September 7, as a power outage halted flight departures.

Footage by David Lowes shows free food being handed out to people in a darkened terminal. Lowes said the power went out at 4:30 am.

Shortly before 6:30 am, KXAN reporter Blake DeVine said the lights were back on.

“Security line at Barbara Jordan Terminal is packed with people but due to temporary black spots, they’re not letting people inside,” he said. Credit: David Lowes via Storyful
