Large smoke plumes from a newly sparked wildfire burning near Santa Barbara, California, were seen from an airplane on the evening of October 11.
This footage, filmed by Laura McLendon, shows smoke from the Alisal Fire burning in the region at 5:15 pm local time.
Official reports said the blaze was sparked at 2:30 pm local time and quickly grew to 2,000 acres, or 3.1 square miles, in size.
