Pakatan candidate cancels tonight’s events to prepare for flood relief in Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM, Nov 8 — Pakatan Harapan (PH)’s candidate for Shah Alam, Azli Yusof, and his team has cancelled two events scheduled for tonight following heavy rain and the possibility of flash floods this evening.

His team notified the media in its official WhatsApp group this afternoon cancelling a walkabout in the Section 17 market and a PH rally in Padang Jawa, to prepare for heavy floods.

“The PH ‘ceramah’ that was scheduled at 9pm on Tuesday, November 8 in Padang Jawa has been cancelled to focus on preparation if flood occurs,” his spokesman said.

The event was scheduled to have Azli speaking, as well as the three state assemblypersons in the Shah Alam constituency as well as Malaysia United Democratic Alliance (Muda) secretary-general Amir Abdul Hadi.

Yesterday, MetMalaysia published a continuous rain warning up until November 11 with the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) today also released a warning of flash flood in several states including Shah Alam and Kuala Lumpur

Social media users have reported that parts of Shah Alam are experiencing flash floods, with Seksyen 17, 24, 25 and Padang Jawa mentioned as affected.
