Pahang palace: No truth to royal wedding rumour involving crown prince Tengku Hassanal as claimed by woman on Instagram
KUANTAN, Dec 10 — The Pahang palace today denied a viral post regarding a royal wedding involving the Crown Prince of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, and a woman, which was allegedly set to take place in April next year.
Sultan of Pahang’s Principal Royal Administrator, Major General Datuk Mohamed Zahari Yahya, said the post, uploaded by an Instagram user named Faridah Daud (faridah.daud_l), featured the woman claiming she would marry Tengku Hassanal, according to a report published by national news agency Bernama today.
“The Instagram story claimed that the woman would be marrying in April next year, and maliciously named Tengku Hassanal as her partner,” he said in a statement today.
The Pahang Palace has repeatedly detected defamatory posts from the same individual and urged the public not to believe any statements other than those from the official Pahang Palace portal, istanapahang.my, he added.
In addition to the portal, he said the public could also refer to social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, which only use the “Kesultanan Pahang” account name.
“Strict action may be taken against the individual or anyone found making defamatory posts or disrupting the harmony, particularly regarding the Pahang Palace,” he said.
