Ozzy Osbourne announces new album with new single, "Under the Graveyard"

Last month, Osbourne's wife announced that the former Black Sabbath frontman will unveil his first album in nearly a decade next January.

Ahead of the album release, Osbourne unveiled the lead single for the project, "Under the Graveyard," which finds the heavy metal icon reflecting on his own mortality.

"Today, I woke up and I hate myself/Death doesn't answer when I cry for help/No high could save me from the depths of Hell/I'll drown my mind until I'm someone else," he sings in the Andrew Watts-produced song.

"Ordinary Man" will mark Osbourne's 12thh studio effort, following his 2010 "Scream."

The album, which was recorded in Los Angeles, will feature guest contributions from Gun N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and producer Andrew Watt on guitar.

Although details about the full-length are still scarce, the vocalist revealed that he was inspired to return to the studio for "Ordinary Man" after collaborating with Post Malone on "Take What You Want."

"My first thing was 'who the f**k is Post Malone?!' I went to Andrew's [Watt] house and he said we will work really quick. After we finished that song, he said 'would you be interested in starting an album.' I said 'that would be fucking great, but now I am thinking I don't want to be working in a basement studio for six months! And in just a short time, we had the album done," he said in a statement.

Osbourne also added that "Ordinary Man" is "quite possibly the most important album I have done in a very long time."

Last month, the musician announced the postponement of his upcoming UK and European tour dates as he was in need of more recovery time from a surgery he required after falling in his Los Angeles home back in January.

"I've got more nuts and bolts in my neck now than my car. I'm not dying, I am recovering: it's just taking a little bit longer than everyone thought it would," he explained in a video message.
