Over/Under Week 2 - D'Andre Swift

Will D'Andre Swift be the Key to the Lions' success vs. Green Bay on Monday Night?

Video transcript

MATT HARMON: All right, time for yet another over/under here. And it's on Lions running back D'Andre Swift. We're going to set the line here at just 5 and 1/2 catches. And if you couldn't tell by me saying just, I am going over this number. He ran a route on 91% of the passing plays in which he took part in Week 1, led the team with 11 targets.

I feel like this is a lock for D'Andre Swift to go over 5 and 1/2 catches in a game where the Packers will be beating up on the Lions. The Lions will be in negative game script, throwing the ball a lot. I think this is a pretty easy and confident over. Minty, what say you?

MINTY BETS: I mean, come on. He didn't even reach six catches at all last season in a single game. And I know he's got the go-to guy, and he hit eight receptions last week. But I mean, the Packers have the ninth best total defense. So I have to go with the under here.

MATT HARMON: [SIGHS] I guess I probably should have seen that coming. I probably should've seen that coming from Minty.

[LAUGHS]

But that is OK. Liz, are you going over and under-- or over or under on this total? I know you're really excited about Jamaal Williams in the revenge game. But does that dampen your receiving enthusiasm for D'Andre Swift at all?

LIZ LOZA: No, no, no, no, no, Matt.

[LAUGHTER]

You said he ran a route on 90%. Let's contextualize that a little bit. He ran 46 routes. For reference, that was more than CeeDee Lamb ran on Thursday night-- or last Thursday night. My goodness, he is absolutely the Lions' number 1 receiver. Tyrell Williams out, so that's not going to change.

Also, I've got to say something about these Lions. Like, for all of Dan Campbell's weird pet lion, knee-chomping nonsense, like, this Lions squad has a never-say-die attitude that is distinctly different than the previous regime. And also, mm, they didn't fall down last week, where Green Bay, they might have. So I think there's going to be a lot of passing, and I think Swift can easily go over this number.
