A total of 63 cars were involved in a pile up on on a Virginia highway during an icy, foggy morning on December 22, police said in an afternoon update.
Virginia State Police said the crash on Interstate-64 in York County sent 35 people to the hospital with injuries ranging from minor to life-threatening. Police said there were no reported deaths at the time of writing.
The crash happened in York County near Williamsburg, Virginia, just before 8 am, police said. At the time of the accident, there was ice on the bridge and “heavy” fog in the area.
