Over 5,000 Structures Threatened by Mosquito Fire Burning in Northern California

The Mosquito Fire burning in Northern California covered 37,326 acres and was zero percent contained on Sunday, September 11, according to Cal Fire.

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office reported approximately 5,848 homes were threatened and 11,117 people had been evacuated due to the fire, which burned in parts of Placer County and El Dorado County, California.

Cal Fire said the fire remained active on Saturday, September 10, despite slightly cooler temperatures and lower humidity.
