Over 100 Vehicles Involved in Massive Pileup on Japanese Expressway

Whiteout conditions caused around 140 vehicles to collide on the Tohuku Expressway in Osaki, Japan, on January 19.

At least one person died, NHK said, and 10 were hospitalized.

The Japan Meteorological Agency warned the cold weather would continue, with strong winds and snow storms expected. Up to 50 centimeters of snow was forecast for the country’s north by early Wednesday, January 20.
