‘Only Murders in the Building’ Heads to Hollywood in First Season 4 Teaser, Sets Premiere Date

“Only Murders in the Building” dropped the first teaser for Season 4 on Tuesday and set its premiere date on Hulu.

The reveal was made during Disney’s upfront presentation to advertisers in New York. The new season of the popular comedy series will bow on August 27. In the teaser, the main trio (Martin Short, Steve Martin, Selena Gomez) learn that a Hollywood studio wants to make a movie out of their podcast, sending them on a whirlwind trip to Los Angeles, while also trying to solve the murder of Sazz Pataki, the former stunt double of Martin’s character.

The official description of Season 4 states:

“Charles, Oliver & Mabel wrestle with the shocking events at the end of season three surrounding Charles’ stunt double & friend Sazz Pataki. Questioning whether Sazz or Charles was the intended victim, our trio’s investigation leads them all the way to Los Angeles where a Hollywood studio is readying a film about the Only Murders podcast. As our amateur sleuths race back to New York, they embark on an even more epic journey — traversing their building’s courtyard to delve into the twisted lives of the Arconia’s West Tower residents.”

Along with Martin, Short, and Gomez the cast for Season 4 includes Michael Cyril Creighton and special guest stars including Meryl Streep, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Zach Galifianakis, Molly Shannon, Kumail Nanjiani, Melissa McCarthy, Richard Kind, and more.

Martin, John Hoffman, Short, and Gomez all executive produce “Only Murders in the Building” along with Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal. It was created by Martin and Hoffman. 20th Television is the studio.
