Tom Daley has been spotted again working on a knitting masterpiece at the Tokyo Olympics.

The 27-year-old sitting in the stands knitting has become a familiar sight at the Games, with cameras capturing his ongoing creations several times.

He has already knitted a special pouch to keep his gold medal safe and has now been spotted working on a new project - a giant Team GB sweater.

Four-time Olympian Daley, who won his first gold medal with Matty Lee in the synchronised 10m platform last week, is a keen knitter, with a dedicated Instagram page to show off his creations.

He was spotted knitting his way through the women's three metres springboard diving final on Sunday then again during the preliminary round of the men's 3m springboard at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre.

The white woollen creation features the Olympic rings as well as a Union flag and 'Team GB' in red.

Daley has revealed that he took up knitting and crocheting to deal with the rigours of lockdown last year.

He said previously: "The one thing that has kept me sane throughout this whole process is my love for knitting, crocheting and all things stitching."

His Made With Love By Tom Daley Instagram account has 100,000 followers and Daley regularly shares his creation.

Sharing his special homemade pouch for his gold medal, which features a Union flag and the Japanese flag on either side.

He said: "It all tucks in nicely with a little pouch for me to carry around my little medal to stop it getting scratched."

Daley is next in action on Friday when he begins his bid for a first individual Olympic title in the men's 10m platform.
