Olivia Munn is parenting inside the box.

The Newsroom alum, 42, took to Instagram on Friday to share a series of photos and videos of herself packing up boxes. Hanging out inside one of the boxes was her and partner John Mulaney’s son, Malcolm, who had a slew of toys to play with while his mom packed.

“Unboxing,” Munn captioned the post.

The X-Men: Apocalypse star received lots of comments on the cute post. One follower wrote, “What a cute lil package,” while another added, “So sweet! Best unboxing ever.”

Malcolm is the first child for both Munn and Mulaney, who got together in 2021 and welcomed their baby in November 2021. Munn often shares photos of her little one, and recently posted a video of comedian Mulaney making his son laugh. She captioned the father-son moment, “When he squeezes his eyes shut from laughing so hard.”

While Munn has shared plenty of happy memories from her time with Malcolm, she isn’t afraid to acknowledge the challenges of parenthood on social media. Earlier this month, she shared that her son was dealing with a bout of illness — which came with some messy complications.

“Got through our first sickness,” Munn wrote over an image of her cuddling with Malcolm. “Haven’t properly slept since last Wednesday but there’s nowhere else I’d rather be than cuddling my little boy and being covered in his explosive poop.”

In May, she got honest about some of the things she was struggling with after welcoming her first child.

“Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there, but especially to the moms who are struggling with post partum depression/anxiety, still wearing their maternity clothes because you’ve realized that the snap back is bullshit and so unreal, and feel insecure as they scroll through Insta today realizing they don’t have the energy, creativity or brain power to post a beautiful pic of motherhood,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “Thank you to @johnmulaney for knowing that all I wanted for Mother’s Day was a bucket of chicken, a box of biscuits and for him to take over all nap duties today.”

Munn previously shared in a February Instagram video that she had difficulties breastfeeding Malcolm, despite much effort.

"Breastfeeding when you have low-supply," she shared, before detailing all she has tried to do to increase her supply of breast milk. "2 lactation consultants, lactation soups, liters of coconut water, nipple ointments, heating pads to increase circulation, 3 breastfeeding pillows, lactation, teas, gummies, vitamins, cookies, skin to skin, 3 different breast pumps."
