Meet Olivia Culpo's parents.

The newlywed model — who married NFL star Christian McCaffrey in June 2024 — was born to Susan and Peter Culpo on May 8, 1992. She grew up in Cranston, R.I. alongside her four siblings: Aurora, Sophia, Pete and Gus.

Though Olivia and her sisters now are in the spotlight, reality show and all, when speaking with People StyleWatch for the winter 2022 issue, the sisters collectively described their childhood in Rhode Island using one word: "normal." Peter is an entrepreneur and Susan is a musician, who prioritized her mom duties to raise her five kids.

"My mom and dad actually both met in orchestra, but then my dad had five kids," Olivia previously explained in 2019. "He realized that he couldn't afford to basically raise us, so he got into the restaurant business... He worked his way all the way up from the bottom to the top. It's very rewarding."

But though they're proud of their daughters' own careers, “they still have no idea what we do,” Olivia told PEOPLE in 2022 with a laugh. “Gosh, explaining to them is so painful. It just will never register.”

But regardless, their family dynamic is a close one, as seen in The Culpo Sisters, their TLC series. "Our parents are really quirky," Olivia told PEOPLE. "We also have two brothers that are in the show. All in all, it's a totally different story line."

Olivia Culpo is the middle child of Peter and Susan Culpo's five children. Her siblings include sisters Aurora and Sophia and brothers Pete and Gus.

Peter and Susan's eldest child, son Pete, is a musican who plays in two different bands, a cover band called Future Dads and a '90s alternative tribute band called Be Kind, Rewind.

Aurora is Peter and Susan's second eldest child, firstborn daughter and established "family boss." Like her sisters, she solidified herself as a beauty and fashion social media influencer — but only after working in the field of behavior analysis and special education and becoming a mother herself.

Following Olivia is Gus, who often makes appearances on his sister's social media pages. Gus is a talented pianist and athlete who played baseball at the University of Southern California.

Sophia is the youngest of Peter and Susan's five children and established "peacemaker" of the family. Like her older sisters, she pursued a career in the fashion and beauty space.

Peter is a restaurateur with businesses in the Boston and Rhode Island area. He opened the family restaurant called Back 40 alongside Olivia and their cousin, Josh Culpo, in their home state in August 2017.

Olivia celebrated the opening night on Aug. 28 by posting a first look at the red farmhouse building, which seats 165 people in the restaurant and on the back patio. The menu features "American comfort food" like crispy Brussels sprouts, a pepperoni burger and lobster mac and cheese.

In addition to Back 40, Olivia is also part-owner of Rhode Island's Union & Main in East Greenwich. Other Culpo family restaurants include Lake Taco, Evie’s and Black Oak Kitchen & Drink.

“My dad isn’t just the guy whose shirts I used to steal when I was little. He’s also my business partner and the person I have the most fun in the world with,” Olivia said in an interview with Elle in June 2023.

Susan is a professional musician

Susan is a classically trained musician who plays viola for the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, Boston Pops and Boston Symphony. Her sons, Gus and Pete, inherited her love for music — as did Olivia, who plays the cello (a talent that helped her sweep the titles of Miss Rhode Island, Miss USA and Miss Universe in 2012).

Music career aside, Susan's been open about dedicating much of her life to raise her five kids. "Sometimes I worked a lot, but sometimes I wouldn't work at all... we've been fortunate in so many ways," the mom of five previously said in a 2022 podcast interview.

That same year, Aurora told People StyleWatch, “My mom really wanted us to be well-rounded. She didn't come from a lot of money, but she had a very cultural upbringing. Her mom was also an amazing teacher, so that’s how she raised us.”

They are proud Italians

Olivia often talks about her Italian roots with pride, often showcasing her family's heritage through food.

"We’re Italian! I love cooking with you," Peter told Elle in June 2023. The model — and self-proclaimed "big foodie" — jokingly responded, "Yeah, even if mom's the one who cooks really well!"

Olivia showed off her cooking skills when she made an "Italian breakfast pizza" during a cook-off with Gordon Ramsey in September 2019. However, the recipe isn't always completely from scratch.

"In Rhode Island, there's a really big Italian population," Olivia explained. "You get the best bread and the best dough, so we didn't really grow up making our own dough."

They 'don't know' what their daughters do for a living

Peter and Susan appeared in the family series The Culpo Sisters, on TLC in 2022. During one of the episodes, the parents joked that they don't exactly comprehend their daughters' influencer jobs.

"How would you describe the girls' careers now? What do they do?" asked a crew member during the mom-and-dad confessional.

"Please tell us, we don't know," Susan admitted. "I know that Olivia sends me often very many photographs of herself and says 'Pick your fave.'"

Peter then commented on his daughters' influencer mailings saying, "They get like 10 or 20 packages a day. They act like it's a job — they have to open them up and pull out this cool stuff."

"So what the hell do they do, okay? 'Cause I don't know!" Susan added before joking, "They call Olivia an influencer but we don't know because we're not influenced by it."
