Officials Warn of Danger to 'Lives and Homes' as Bushfire in Western Australia Spreads

The government of Western Australia called on east Kwinana residents to evacuate on January 3 as an “out of control” bushfire threatened “lives and homes.”

It said the fire was reported on Sunday afternoon and had burned 70 hectares. The fire was “moving fast in a northerly direction at 800 metres per hour,” it said.
