Officials Survey Damage After Bay Area Thunderstorms

The National Weather Service (NWS) reported more than two inches of rainfall and wind gusts up to 47 mph in parts of California’s Bay Area on Thursday, January 5.

Videos posted by the Cal Fire CZU on Thursday show downed trees, damaged buildings, and flooding in El Granada.

Officials said that “firefighters were responding to non-stop calls until the early morning hours” of Thursday.

Heavy showers continued on January 5, prompting the NWS to issue a flood advisory, saying, “Don’t put away those umbrellas yet.”
