Looks like Christmas came early this year, thanks to Lea Michele.
Her new album, Christmas in the City, is available to purchase! Yep, so you officially have an excuse to start celebrating the holiday early.
Michele recently sat down with PureWow exclusively and opened up about the album. “I wanted to make this record for so long and it was important for me to incorporate the songs that I grew up listening to—that I love so much,” she said.
According to People, the album is inspired by childhood memories of holidays spent in her hometown of New York City. The tracklist includes Michele’s covers of holiday classics like “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” “Silent Night,” “Silver Bells,” “O Holy Night.” Oh, and we can’t forget about “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” from Frozen.
The 32-year-old announced that she was releasing a Christmas album early this summer in an Instagram post.
“So happy to finally tell you guys what I’ve been working on so hard behind the scenes,” she captioned the pic of herself in a red gown. “The album I’ve always dreamed of making. Coming this Christmas.”
The holiday album is the third studio album the former Glee actress has released. Her last album Places came out in 2017.
That’s not the only thing she’s been busy working in the past year. Michele also landed the part of Ariel in the new live stage performance of The Little Mermaid. The Hollywood Bowl’s two-night-only stage adaptation, which took place May 17 and 18, came just in time for the film’s 30th anniversary.
Did we mention she also recently got married? Talk about a busy year.
And it looks like we got the Darren Criss cameo we wished for…the singer lends his voice to “White Christmas.” Best. Album. Ever.
