Now that their survival has been confirmed, Nottingham Forest are considering a monstrous offer to tempt an exciting forward to the City Ground.

In the end, Forest’s persistence with Steve Cooper paid off. Despite their bumps along the way, the club have done an excellent job to stay in the Premier League.

Last summer was a whirlwind of business at the City Ground. With a total of 25 additions in the summer window alone, there was rarely a dull moment.

While things aren’t expected to be quite as busy this time, Forest do have their sights set on some exciting players who would take them to the next level.

The latest star they have been linked with is Udinese forward Beto. The Portuguese forward has scored 10 league goals in just 22 stars this season.

According to Mondo Udinese, Forest are interested in the 25-year-old along with a host of other Italian sides. Napoli are among the other sides chasing his signature.

Udinese knocked back any offers they received for Beto in January and Napoli’s latest reported offer of around £23million is expected to fall way short of their valuation.

“Napoli’s offer for Beto? I have not seen this offer,” Udinese’s technical director Pierpaolo Marino explained via Tutto Udinese.

“Beto has a clause so there aren’t many discussions to have. He is an important player with plenty of room for improvement. We will try to hold him as long as we can.”

Beto would be an exciting addition

Following their promotion to the Premier League, Forest have shown that they are willing to spend big on the right players.

Cooper’s side have averaged just one goal per game this year and so some added firepower would be useful next season.

The likes of Taiwo Awoniyi and Brennan Johnson have scored the bulk of their goals and Morgan Gibbs-White has been their main source of creativity.

A player like Beto would give them an extra edge in the final third. The forward takes an average of 1.9 shots per game, which is more than any Forest player has managed this season.

Udinese hold all of the cards when it comes to his future. He is contracted with the Italian club until 2026 and so they are in no rush to sell.

Everton have also been linked with the forward, but will likely be priced out of a move with other European sides chasing him.

Given the backing Forest have and their Premier League survival confirmed, they are in a healthy position to rival some of Europe’s top clubs.

The pull of the Premier League cannot be underestimated and Forest have an exciting project right now under Cooper.

If they are able to build on the foundations of this season, Forest could be a mainstay in the Premier League for the foreseeable future.
