Not yet ready for suburbia? Here's where to live in 'Midburbia'

Somerton Road (Truepenny's)
Somerton Road (Truepenny's)

After our piece on Midburbia went viral, it seemed to annoy quite a lot of people but has also become something of a buzz phrase. Put simply, Midburbia is the area around the centre of London that is a little quieter, with a village-y vibe, but still close enough for you to enjoy the fun of the city.

It’s for families and couples who want to settle down, but also avoid the perceived mundanity of the suburbs proper. Creative types in particular are clamouring for these areas as they try to keep their finger on the pulse - and try to retain some cool.

Alright, there’s plenty of scope here for people to cry ‘gentrification!’ and start throwing stones at the nearest Gail’s as the lovely middle class people start taking over inner city homes, open delis and then insist that the noise is kept down. But that’s not for us to judge. All we can do is identify it as a trend and provide a service in showing great properties available in these places.
