Oslo will donate mortar ammunition worth 480 million Norwegian kroner ($52 million) to Ukraine, Norwegian Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram said on June 13.

"Ukraine has a great need for all kinds of ammunition, and they specifically asked for what we are now transferring," Gram said.

"We are trying to help in the difficult fight for Ukraine."

This donation comes after Norway recently provided hand grenades worth about NOK 50 million ($5.5 million) and sniper ammunition worth NOK 3 million (almost $285,000) to Kyiv.

On June 12, the Norwegian Foreign Ministry pledged to “contribute €240 million ($257.9 million) to air defense measures for Ukraine.”
