Northwest Wisconsin Hit With Heavy Hail

Parts of Wisconsin saw hail as tornado-warned storms swept the Upper Midwest on Monday, May 9, the National Weather Service (NWS) reported.

On Monday, the NWS warned east-central Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin of incoming thunderstorms carrying hail up to 1.5 inches, 60 mph winds, and tornado potential.

Home security footage shared by Mike Hess shows hail falling on his cabin in Hayward, Wisconsin, he said. Hess wrote on Facebook that the cabin roof “looks like someone took a tap hammer to it.” Credit: Mike Hess via Storyful
