Northern Lights Dazzle in UK After Coronal Mass Ejection

Stargazers in parts of the UK were treated to a display of the northern lights on Wednesday, November 3, after a coronal mass ejection from the sun made the phenomenon visible farther south than usual.

Photographs take by Lorraine Degraff show the display as seen from the shore in Maryport, Cumbria.

“It was a fantastic sight and definitely as good as what I’ve seen in Iceland,” Degraff told Storyful.
