Police in Norfolk are seeking to speak to an individual who’s been making daily excursions in the costume of a 17-century plague doctor.
Jade Gosbell was out for a walk in Hellesdon when she spotted the figure, wearing the long black coat and beak mask favored by doctors who treated victims of bubonic plague. She said she “felt angry” when she saw the person, thinking of how frightening her mother would have found him.
“It’s clear he’s doing it just for the sake of it,” Gosbell said.
Speaking to the BBC, a spokesperson for Norfolk Police said that they wished to trace the individual “in order to provide words of advice about the implications of his actions on the local community”. Credit: Jade Gosbell via Storyful
