Noraniza Idris and dancers make it into Malaysia Book of Records

27 Sep – Queen of Traditional Pop, Noraniza Idris created history with the Malaysia Book Of Records (MBOR) through the largest number of dancers involved in an Irama Malaysia performance that took place at Dataran Merdeka.

At the event, which was held on 25 September, Noraniza, known to many as Kak Ani, sang her new duet song titled "Ala Ewa-Ewa" as well as two popular songs, "Intan Payung" and "Dikir Putri" accompanied by 565 dancers consisting of high school students around the Klang Valley and international students from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

The record-setting event lasted seven minutes at Dataran Merdeka to close the curtain on the Malaysian Games Festival organised by the Federal Territory Department of Culture and Arts (JKKN).

Sharing the experience on social media, Kak Ani stated that it was not easy to gather 565 dancers in one place, especially after organising such an event under ten days.

"Thank you to everybody who collaborated and making it a reality," she added.

In another post, she also thanked Hazama, who appeared at the event to perform alongside her.
