Nor’easter Buries New York’s Times Square in Snow

Heavy snow blanketed New York on Monday, February 1, with the National Weather Service (NWS) reporting record snowfall across the city.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted a restriction on non-emergency travel after 6 am on Monday in anticipation of the adverse weather conditions.

This footage, shot by Anton Ponomarev, shows snow falling on an already snow-packed Times Square as street sweepers attempt to clear paths for pedestrians. Later in the footage, a frozen fountain can be seen with long, white icicles clinging to its large basin. Credit: Anton Ponomarev via Storyful
