Noah Cyrus Celebrates Mom Tish's 57th Birthday by Sharing Throwback Photo amid Rumored Estrangement

Noah's post comes about two months after a source told PEOPLE she "was offended" by Tish's marriage to Dominic Purcell because she'd previously dated the actor

Noah Cyrus is celebrating her mom Tish's birthday.

As the mother of five and husband of actor Dominic Purcell turned 57 on May 13, Noah took to her Instagram Story and shared a throwback photo with her mom alongside the simple caption, "happy birthday mom."

In the photo, a young Noah, 24, smiles big as she holds her mom's arm, while Tish has a birthday cake with lit candles in her hands.

The Grammy-nominated singer's Instagram Story post comes amid rumors of estrangement between herself and some family members following dad Billy Ray and Tish's 2022 split.

Last month, after a source told PEOPLE Noah "was offended" by Tish's 2023 marriage to Purcell, 54, because she'd previously dated the Prison Break actor, she clapped back at an Instagram commenter who brought up the alleged drama.

After attending the 2024 Coachella festival in Indio, California, with her fiancé Pinkus, Noah shared pictures to Instagram and quoted a lyric from headliner Lana Del Rey's "Young & Beautiful" in the post's caption.

"dear lord, when i get to heaven please let me bring my man," wrote the "I Burned LA Down" musician.

Underneath the post, an IG user with the handle @realgrandma1341 commented, "Like that guy u and ur mom both have sexy time with?"

Noah replied, "hey real grandma , I'm so sorry but will you pleeeeeass just choke on the fattest c---. just for a lil bit. great thanks."

Also last month, she garnered backlash for liking a gym selfie posted by her sister Miley's ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.

Later, Noah posted and deleted a note responding to the chatter on her Instagram Story. "There's no greater joy than seeing y'all get s0000000 angry over the dumbest s--- it's so entertaining and funny," over an image of pipes and gravel," she wrote, adding in another post, "Who gives a f---."

Following Tish and Purcell's August 2023 nuptials, attended by Miley and her siblings Brandi and Trace (though not Noah or brother Braison), headlines emerged around the Cyrus family when a source told PEOPLE Purcell had casually dated Noah before marrying her mom.

"Noah and Dominic were seeing each other in a friends-with-benefits way, off and on. They stopped seeing each other and then Tish started something up," the source said in March. "Tish knew he had been seeing Noah."

At the time, the source added that Tish "never gave Noah the chance to talk about all of this" before she married Purcell.

Miley had "no idea" about her mother and sister's drama, according to a source and later "confronted her mom about it." The insider added, "She thinks it’s a strange situation, but she loves her mom and wants her to be happy."
