The mighty Mount Midoriyama may never be conquered again on Ninja Warrior UK.

ITV's reboot of the wildly popular Japanese competition format Sasuke has tested the skills of gladiators across the UK for the past five years, putting them through multiple gruelling stages in order to climb the mythic mount.

Unfortunately, Ninja Warrior UK host Chris Kamara revealed during an Instagram Live stream with pal Keith Lemon that ITV isn't as passionate about the series as its fanbase (via Radio Times).

He confirmed: "Ninja Warrior is finished, I'm afraid."

Lemon was understandably shocked to hear about Ninja Warrior UK's untimely demise, pointing out that "everyone loves" the show.

"Yeah they do, apart from one person – the person who commissions it," Kamara candidly admitted.

Digital Spy has reached out to ITV for comment on Ninja Warrior UK's status.

ITV's UK adaptation of the worldwide telly phenomenon has been presented by Kamara, Good Morning Britain co-anchor Ben Shephard and This Morning's Rochelle Humes.

The UK obstacle course was so challenging that it took four years for anyone to actually climb to the top of Mount Midoriyama successfully.

In the 2019 series, Tim Champion managed to make it to the peak of the mountain with only one second to go, making him the 'Last Man Standing' for the entire country!

Champion's accomplishment meant that he'd managed to finish higher than the likes of Gethin Jones, Harry Judd, Jenni Falconer and co-host Rochelle's own husband Marvin Humes in the all-time rankings.

Ninja Warrior UK fans can catch up with past series on the ITV Hub.
