Roberts starred in Unfabulous, a sitcom created by Sue Rose, which ran for three seasons on Nickelodeon.
“It’s inexcusable,” she said in an interview with Flaunt about the sexual harassment allegations. “Kids need to be protected, adults need to be protected.”
The experience that Roberts had at Nickelodeon was different with her mother on the set with her.
“I have been lucky with the family I have and the people that I’ve worked with,” she added. “I try to keep doing my job and keep my head down.”
One of the most shocking revelations of the docuseries was Drake Bell, star of Drake & Josh, opening up about being abused by former Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck.
Peck was arrested in 2003 on 11 charges, including sodomy, lewd act upon a child 14 or 15 by a person 10 years older, and oral copulation by anesthesia or controlled substance, but the minor was never named.
Bell revealed he was the minor in the docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, sharing details of the abuse he suffered by the former dialogue coach at the children’s network.
The docuseries also focused on the unsafe environment kids were subjected to on the sets of Nickelodeon shows, which were largely run by Schneider. Lori Beth Denberg, star of All That, claimed that Schneider showed her porn and initiated phone sex with her.
Schneider denied Denbger’s allegations saying in a statement her claims were “wildly exaggerated and, in most cases, false.”
