"Nibble" pan to help cravings

Industrial designer Talia Wiener invented the Nibble, a cake pan that makes a small muffin-sized cake on the side of the pan so you can taste-test the cake without digging into it and ruining it for a big party or presentation.

"Whether celebrating a birthday or an anniversary, there is always an occasion for cake. But it can be difficult to check the tastiness of your sweet concoction without altering its delicate shape. Fear no more, for here is Nibble, a uniquely shaped cake pan with an additional small cake holder that lets you taste-test while keeping your masterpiece intact," wrote online shop Quirky.

But many have already speculated a possible flaw in the invention, which is that smaller bits of cake are likely to bake quicker than the bigger cake thus burning the smaller Nibble in the process if baked at the same time.

Since the taster portion would bake through more quickly than a full-size cake, it is recommended that you should remove the silicone cup from the pan 5 to 10 minutes before the cake is done.

The silicone cup is a great idea to cover the flaw, since you can easily remove the Nibble portion without touching the bigger cake pan.
