Joe Burrow's friends weren't huge fans of his backless look at Vogue World: Paris.

On the Monday, July 8 episode of the Pardon My Take podcast, the 27-year-old Cincinnati Bengals quarterback said he was "roasted" by his inner circle after wearing a black Peter Do suit with black lapels and a cutout that showed off his bare back.

"I've been roasted in just about every group chat I could possibly be roasted in," he told the hosts.

The NFL star also said that the look was unplanned. "I showed up and they gave it to me and I said, 'Sure,'" he recalled.

He later added that despite thinking he looked "cool," he was "fully prepared for all of the criticism and roasting I knew was coming my way."

Clearly able to poke fun at himself, Burrow joked that "backless suits are in" and suggested the hosts wear them for "whatever event you have next."

"It doesn't even have to be... you can just cut the back out of a suit," he continued. "You don't even have to like, make it tailored."

Burrow described the experience at the annual fashion event, which is part of Paris Fashion Week, as being "out of my comfort zone."

"Some might say I've gone Hollywood," he joked. "I went Hollywood for a week and now it's time to lock in for football. So I think I'm allowed one week of Hollywood."

The athlete's runway appearance capped off his time at Paris Fashion Week. Per Vogue, he and Minnesota Vikings wideout Jefferson sat front row at Amiri and toured the Hermès atelier.

“I’ve always loved clothes but never really understood the industry, so I wanted to learn more,” he told the outlet.
